June 21 - Eastern Kentucky University baseball coach Jim Ward has announced the signing of Lexington Catholic High School corner infielder Kevin Payne to a national letter-of-intent.
June 15 - Eastern Kentucky University baseball coach Jim Ward has announced the signing of Justin Dungan, 6-5, 190-pound righthanded pitcher from Pulaski Southwestern High School, to a national letter-of-intent.
June 14 - Brian Engle, who recorded a 10-3 record this past season for Corbin High School, has signed a national letter-of-intent with the Eastern Kentucky University Colonels.
June 13 - Eastern Kentucky University head baseball coach Jim Ward has announced the signing of outfielder Josh Anderson, 6-2, 180, from Pulaski County High School to a national letter-of-intent.
June 12 - Eastern Kentucky University baseball coach Jim Ward has announced the signing of lefthanded pitcher Dan Bachman of Elder High School in Cincinnati, OH, to a national letter-of-intent.
May 22 - Coach Jim Ward's Eastern Kentucky University baseball team closed its 2000 season last weekend with a third-place finish in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament which was held at Cape Girardeau, MO.
May 17 - Eastern Kentucky University head baseball coach Jim Ward has been named 2000 Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year in voting by the league's head baseball coaches and sports information directors.
May 15 - With an 11-4 defeat of Southeast Missouri State University Sunday in Cape Girardeau, MO, coach Jim Ward's Eastern Kentucky University baseball team captured the 2000 Ohio Valley Conference regular season championship and now prepares for the OVC Tournament which will also be held in Cape Girardeau later this week.

Apr. 27 - Senior Day activities will be held Saturday at Eastern Kentucky University for the nine EKU senior baseballers who will be playing the final weekend home games of their careers at Eastern this Saturday when Belmont University visits Eastern's Turkey Hughes Field.
Apr. 26 - Corey Eagle tossed a complete game and Adam Basil banged out four hits to lead Eastern Kentucky to a 10-1 win over West Virginia Wednesday afternoon at Hawley Field.
Apr. 25 - Eastern Kentucky used a four run sixth inning to defeat West Virginia, 7-3 in the second game of a doubleheader Tuesday evening at Hawley Field.

Apr. 17 - Having won all five Ohio Valley Conference series thus far (EKU stands 12-3 in league play and in first place in the conference standings for those teams that have played a full 15 - game league schedule), coach Jim Ward's Eastern Kentucky University Colonel baseball team has two road games in midweek before hosting Eastern Illinois University in a three game OVC set Friday and Saturday at Turkey Hughes Field.
Apr. 11 - Eastern Kentucky University's baseball team will play host to Tennessee Tech University this weekend at Turkey Hughes Field. The Colonels and the Golden Eagles will play a doubleheader Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m. The two teams will play at 1:00 p.m. again on Sunday.

Apr. 7 - Coach Jim Ward's Eastern Kentucky University baseball team heads to Morehead State University for an important three game series with the Eagles this weekend. The two teams play a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader Saturday at MSU's Sonny Allen Field and a single game Sunday, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Mar. 30 - Coach Jim Ward's Eastern Kentucky University baseball team puts its undefeated (6-0) record in Ohio Valley Conference play on the line this weekend as the Murray State Thorobreds come to Turkey Hughes Field for a three game set.
Mar. 22 - Freshman Tyler Parker's two run pinch-hit home run in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted No. 14 Georgia Tech over Eastern Kentucky, 5-4, on Wednesday night at Russ Chandler Stadium.
Mar. 21 - Sophomore second baseman Richard Lewis slapped a RBI single through the middle with two out in the ninth on Tuesday night, as No. 14 Georgia Tech defeated Eastern Kentucky, 3-2, at Russ Chandler Stadium.

Mar. 19 - Following a three game sweep of the Austin Peay State University Governors, coach Jim Ward's Eastern Kentucky University baseball Colonels hit the road for Spring Break, playing the next seven games away from EKU's Turkey Hughes Field.
Mar. 18 - Paced by an unbelievable and unheard of 23 innings of shutout baseball, the Eastern Kentucky University Colonels began Ohio Valley Conference play on a good note, sweeping the Austin Peay State University Governors, 1-0 in 16 innings and 3-0 in a seven-inning nightcap, in both team's opening conference doubleheader of the season.
Mar. 16 - The Eastern Kentucky University baseball team opens the 2000 Ohio Valley Conference season this weekend with a three game set with Austin Peay State University. EKU takes on the Govs in a noon doubleheader Saturday and closes out the series with a 1:00 p.m. single game Sunday.
Mar. 14 - Coach Jim Ward's Eastern Kentucky University baseball Colonels, winners of three of their last four contests, will host the University of Kentucky Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at EKU's Turkey Hughes Field.
Mar. 10 - The Eastern Kentucky University baseball Colonels broke a four game losing streak with a 14-2 win over Belmont Thursday and now will host the Comfort Suites Invitational at Turkey Hughes Field this weekend. Eastern pounded out 21 hits and received seven strong innings of pitching from sophomore righthander Chip Albright as the Colonels picked up their third win in 11 decisions this season.
Mar. 4 - Lee Bagley's two out, ninth inning RBI single lifted Stetson to its second come from behind victory in the last three games, as the Hatters rallied past Eastern Kentucky for an 11-10 win, Saturday at Melching Field at Conrad Park.
Mar. 3 - Jason Oglesby scattered 10 hits over six innings and Stetson's defense threw out three Eastern Kentucky runners at home as the Hatters downed the Colonels 5-3, Friday at Melching Field at Conrad Park.
Mar. 2 - Jeff Christy's two out, 9th inning single scored Mike Fellman and propelled Stetson to a 2-1 win over Eastern Kentucky Thursday at Melching Field at Conrad Park.
Feb. 24 - Coach Jim Ward's Eastern Kentucky University Colonel baseball team hopes to break into the win column this weekend when it travels to Greenville, SC, for a three game set with Furman University.  EKU, 0-3 on the season, will play the Paladins in a doubleheader Saturday and a single game Sunday. Both games begin at noon EST.
Feb. 19 - Host UNC Wilmington exploded for seven runs in the first inning of the nightcap and went on to complete a sweep of Eastern Ky., 6-3 and 11-2, in a college baseball doubleheader Saturday at Brooks Field.
Feb. 18 - UNC Wilmington (2-3) took advantage of four Eastern Ky. (0-1) errors in the second inning as it plated eight runs on it's way to a 14-9 win over the Colonels in baseball action Friday at Brooks Field.
Feb. 15 - The Eastern Kentucky University baseball team opens its 2000 schedule this weekend with a three game set with the University of North Carolina - Wilmington which includes a single game Friday at 3:00 p.m. and a doubleheader Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
Jan. 26 - Eastern Kentucky University will hold its annual Baseball Diamond and Dinner and Auction, Saturday, Feb. 12.  A silent auction and reception at Walnut Hall in the Keen Johnson Building will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the banquet to follow at 7:00 p.m.
Jan. 11 - Eastern Kentucky University will be conducting a baseball hitting camp, Feb. 7-10, for all youngsters, ages 7-18, in the hitting cage on the main concourse (third level) of Roy Kidd Stadium.

May 13 - Eastern Kentucky University senior righthanded pitcher Eric Bess of Brooksville, KY has been named to the 1999 Baseball GTE Academic All - District Team for District IV as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Bess has compiled a 3.73 GPA in Business Management and has been selected to the GTE Academic All - District Team for the second straight year.
May 11 - Having already secured a spot in next week's six team Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, coach Jim Ward's Eastern Kentucky University Colonel baseball team will now attempt to move as high in the standings as possible. EKU hosts Middle Tennessee, one of the hottest teams in the league, at Turkey Hughes Field.
