EKU SIGNS INFIELDER FROM OHIO

RICHMOND, Ky. - Eastern Kentucky University head baseball coach Jim Ward has announced that infielder Adam Crowder of Crestwood High School in Mantua, OH, has signed a national letter-of-intent with the Eastern Kentucky University baseball team.

Crowder, 6-0, 200 pounds, won numerous honors throughout his high school career, including All-State, junior and senior Team Offensive MVP and pre-season All-American by Collegiate Baseball. He was also invited to the Team One Showcase last season.

"Adam has the offensive skills to be a productive hitter in the middle of our lineup during his career at EKU," said Ward. "He is an important addition to our recruiting class this year. We are excited that Adam has selected EKU to continue his education and baseball career."

A four-year starter at Crestwood, Crowder set school records for hits in a season (50) and highest batting average (.623).

After batting .378 as a freshman and .400 as a sophomore, Crowder hit .617 with two home runs and 11 RBI's as a junior and .623 with four homers and 24 runs batted in as a senior.
