BASEBALL GAME WITH WKU THURSDAY MOVED UP TO 3:30 PM
RICHMOND, Ky. - Eastern Kentucky University baseball coach Jim Ward has announced that Thursday's battle at EKU's Turkey Hughes Field with cross-state rival Western Kentucky University has been moved back 30 minutes to accommodate student fans' class schedules. Game time is now 3:30 p.m. Thursday, instead of the traditional 3:00 p.m. start for weekday home games.
"Thursday is "Grand Slam the Stands" Day as we're trying to attract more EKU students to our home games," said Ward. "In addition to the baseball game, there will also be prizes, giveaways and special promotions throughout the afternoon to those in attendance.
"In this regard, the extra half-hour will allow our students with 2:15-3:15 p.m. classes a better opportunity to get to the game," he added.
Eastern stands 20-12 overall and are 5-4 in the Ohio Valley Conference this season.
