NORTHMONT CATCHER TO PLAY BASEBALL FOR COLONELS
 

RICHMOND, Ky. - Eastern Kentucky University baseball coach Jim Ward has announced that catcher Kenton Schulze of Northmont High School in Dayton, OH, has enrolled at Eastern and has decided to play baseball for the Colonels.

Schulze, 6-3, 200, has been an all-conference player his junior and senior seasons at Northmont where he batted .429 his senior year with three home runs and 26 runs batted in for NHS.

"Kenton put together outstanding offensive statistics his senior year at Northmont and for the Greenville American Legion team this past summer," said Ward. "He has outstanding power potential and should play a significant role at EKU during his career."

Schulze batted .454, hit six homers and knocked in 60 runs for the Greenville American Legion team this past summer. He is the son of Ron and Donna Schulze of Union, OH.
