MORGANTOWN, W.VA. -- Corey Eagle tossed a complete game and Adam Basil
banged out four hits to lead Eastern Kentucky to a 10-1 win over West Virginia
                Wednesday afternoon at Hawley Field.

The victory was the second in a row for the Colonels over West Virginia.

EKU plated three runs in the opening frame off WVU starter and loser Brian
Tarajack. The righthander settled down and tossed three scoreless innings before
being relieved by Vance McCracken in the fifth.

Eastern Kentucky scored two runs off WVU reliever Jason Stewart before touching
up Steve Hendren for five earned runs in the seventh and eighth innings to blow the
                game open.

Meanwhile, EKU's Corey Eagle was cruising along. At one point, the lefthander
fanned six straight Mountaineer hitters and finished the afternoon with eight
                strikeouts.

Todd Brock collected two of West Virginia's six hits allowed by Eagle including an
                RBI double in the first.

The victory improves Eagle's record to 7-5. Tarajack falls to 2-2.

West Virginia is now 20-22, and faces Connecticut in a key Big East series this
weekend at Hawley Field. Saturday's game is Burger King Pack the Park Day. If
WVU sets the single game attendance record, each spectator in attendance will
receive a couple for a free whopper.

Saturday's doubleheader is set to start at 3 p.m.
