Eastern Kentucky University Baseball

Dear Recruit:

We sincerely appreciate your interest in Eastern Kentucky University and the Colonel baseball program. At Eastern Kentucky University, you will have the opportunity to receive a quality education while participating in a successful Division I baseball program.

Eastern Kentucky University is situated on "the Campus Beautiful", located in Richmond, a community of 25,000. It is truly a beautiful, friendly atmosphere in which to live and learn. There are currently 16,000 students enrolled at EKU to continue their education.

The success of the Colonel athletic teams is a source of great pride for the student body and campus community. The baseball team won Ohio Valley Conference Championships in 1984, 1985, 1986, and 1989, and participated in NCAA Regional Tournaments at Mississippi State, Florida State, Louisiana State and the University of Arizona. Since 1984 four Colonel baseball
players have earned Division I All-American honors and four players have received an Academic All-American Award. We are proud of our winning tradition and excited about the future of EKU baseball.

The EKU baseball program is committed to a quality Division I schedule which has included Georgia Tech, Miami (FL), Clemson, North Carolina State, Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Virginia and Georgia in recent years.

I wish you continued success with your baseball performance and request that you keep me informed of your progress and plans for continuing your education and baseball career. I encourage all prospective recruits to fill out a questionnaire and submit it to the baseball office.

Sincerely,

Jim Ward
Head Baseball Coach
