The Eastern Kentucky University Baseball Program has won 12 Ohio Valley Conference Championships. The Colonels have had three players recognized as NCAA Division 1 All-Americans, and four teams have participated in the NCAA Division 1 Regional Tournaments. In addition, hundreds of former Colonel players have graduated and distinguished themselves in various professions. Most refer to college baseball participation as a positive experience in their personal development.
We are proud of these and other accomplishments and we are excited about the future as we build on EKU's rich baseball tradition. It takes a continuing commitment to excel and this commitment to excellence has it's price. The cost of conducting a quality Division 1 program and providing scholarships, equipment and travel expenses are continually increasing.
Excellence does have its price, but the rewards are priceless. The value of your individual contribution can never be measured in dollars and cents. It provides an opportunity for young men to learn the meaning of dedication, discipline, teamwork and the value of the work ethic which will benefit them for years. In appreciation, someday they will repay your support by giving their support to the next generation of EKU athletes, as they will become an important link in a continuing commitment.
We have been challenged to seek the support and resources in order to achieve the goals we envision and we are confident that many of you share that vision for EKU baseball to continue to not only be a contender but to be the leader in the OVC.
Thank you for being an important part of "A Proud Tradition".
